Circle of Light

An evening to celebrate the spirit of a community, Friday 30th November was very special. A Thanksgiving from the school to the Community of Parents who have supported the school, the philosophy and the construction of the Middle and High school building through words and actions - spoken and unspoken.

The magical evening unraveled with tree planting, brick painting and the beautiful singing from the middle and high school choir.

What a wonderful world, A Whole new world, Candle on the Water. The Choir lead by Faith Ragland, sang one number after the other entertaining the gathered crowds.

As the sun went down and music filled the air, close to 500 families lit their candles and the soon lanterns glowed in the darkness spreading the light. It was a sight to behold….. 'The Circle of Light'. Gratitude to the Yellow Train Community.

Buildings are children of the earth and sun - Frank Lloyd Right

Freshly made bricks from the very earth the building will stand on. Special moments as every family made their mark with special words and paint as a memoir for the years to come.

Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky - Khalil Gibran.

The land was ploughed and prepared, 300 native indigenous saplings procured. Families arrived in pairs with the children in an organised hustle to create a forest. The green farm would be greener soon as the hundreds of saplings take root.

You are not one. You are a thousand. Just light your lantern - Rumi.

This little guiding light of mine.

I’m going to let it shine.

Let it shine all the time…

As the choir sang, one by one the lanterns were lit and soon there were a thousand skirting the ground. The onlookers awestruck in the beauty walked along in a circle.

This is the night. It was a beautiful night. This lovely bella notte.
